Arthur Vining Davis Foundations
The Secondary Education Program of the Arthur Vining Davis Foundations has funded a curriculum development and teacher training program to help high school teachers leverage the excitement of robotics in their computer science courses.
Google
Google has provided gift funding enabling completion of TeRK hardware design
and supporting the general release of TeRK.
Grable Foundation
The Grable Foundation has provided funding for the Robot 250 project, an educational project celebrating the city of Pittsburgh through technology and the arts.
Intel
Intel has provided historical support for our embedded processor solutions for the
Personal Robot Project, the ancestor of TeRK, and has provided gift funding for
TeRK technological development. The TeRK project has also received a three year grant
from Intel for Neighborhood Nets, a project in which we will conduct research into community robotics.
Microsoft
Microsoft has provided gift funding covering architecture and firmware design and
implementation for TeRK.
National Science Foundation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) has funded some of our work on the Introduction to Computer Science course through their Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement (CCLI) program (Grant No. 0632887). Vira Heinz Endowments
The Vira Heinz Endowments has provided sponsored funding for the Robot Diaries
project, an application of TeRK technology to a middle school girls activity. The endowments has also provided funding for incorporating TeRK robots in to introduction to computer science curricula at community colleges, and provided enabling funding for the Robot 250 project.
Xilinx
Xilinx has donated embedded development software and FPGAs for the initial build of 50 TeRK robots.
