WAV files are clipped at the beginning
When WAV files are played on the Qwerk, the beginning of the sound is clipped. A workaround is to add about 500 milliseconds of silence to the beginning of the sound file. [Issue QWERKSOFTWARE-7]
Video frames sometimes appear truncated
When the camera is viewing very complex scenery, the video frames sometimes appear truncated because they cannot be compressed sufficiently to fit in the allotted memory. [Issue QWERKSOFTWARE-3]
Problems connecting a computer directly to a Qwerk with ethernet
Please see this HOW-TO document: HOW-TO: Set up a direct Ethernet connection to your Qwerk
Qwerk cannot connect to wireless network having spaces in the SSID
Qwerks currently cannot connect to a wireless network which has spaces in the SSID. If you control the network and can change its SSID, a workaround is to simply change the SSID so that it does not contain spaces. [Issue QWERKSOFTWARE-13]
Qwerkbot Teleop Interface keyboard control broken under Linux
The arrow keys used to control a Qwerkbot in the Teleop Interface do not work properly under Linux. Under Windows and MacOS, pressing and holding down an arrow key sends a single command to the Qwerk. Under Linux, however, the same action repeatedly alternates between sending the command and sending the stop command. It is advised that Linux users confine themselves to using the mouse for controlling Qwerkbots until this issue is resolved. [Issue TELEOPCLIENT-1]
Supported cameras and wireless adapters are sometimes difficult to find.
The Qwerk runs embedded Linux. However, most camera and wireless adpater manufacturers do not release drivers for the embedded Linux environment. It frequently takes a while before anyone is able to create a driver for these products to be used in such an environment. Adding to the difficulty, manufacturers frequently change the chipset and drivers used in their products because the technology changes very rapidly. This means that often, the supported cameras and wireless adapters become discontinued relatively quickly. We strive to keep up with these changes as best that we can so that the Qwerk supports readily available cameras and wireless adapters. You can find the list of currently supported devices under the Qwerk help documentation.
