McMaster don't want to accept orders from oversea.
(South Korea)
" Due to the ever-increasing complexity of U.S. Export regulations, McMaster-Carr has decided to only accept orders from a few, long-established customers of ours overseas. "

I'm thinking of building this robot, but I would want to upgrade the wheel/chassis setup. Would the qwerk be able to support four 7.2vdc 30:1 291rpm motors, or will it support anything as long as the battery is big enough?

Go easy, I'm new at this!

Thanks.

lynxmotion.com processes order slow. My order was requested 04/28/2007 and has pending status 05/11/2007 still. It is good to be ready to have half a month delay. In general qwerk device is great because you can play with embedded Linux/MTD on real hardware and with ARM (not Intel) processor that supposes cross compiling. ICE is a good stuff to use as corba-like infrastructure as well. It is obvious from spectrum machine's time that people needs hardware constructor to play with because today's desktop system is too complicated. Don't miss a chance to play with ARM assembler. Have a fun!

@cyber...

Sorry, no, there's no all-in-one kit for any of the TeRK recipes yet. We're hoping to partner with vendors soon, though, to provide this service.

can i buy Qwerkbot+ already assembled? or a all-in-1 kit? so i dont have to buy parts from different places :)

Re: alternative for Zonet ZEW2501

fred06, This is why Linux sucks; no drivers!!! (I know, I know, there are lots of Linux lovers out there...) To add a new driver to Linux, you have to recompile the kernel, which is a lot more work than most people are willing to do.. The Zonet ZEW2501 uses the ZyDAS ZD1211 chipset. A driver for this chipset was included in the 2.6 build of Linux. http://zd1211.ath.cx contains a list of hardware that use that chipset.

Alternative for Zonet ZEW2501
fred06 - 04:57pm Jan 16, 07

The wireless USB Zonet ZEW2501 is difficult to find, and even impossible here in France (too old).
After a failed attempt with another adaptor, I finally tried a MSI US54SE, that uses the same chipset as the Zonet.
Far easier to find, and works like a charm :-)

Double check your motors.
Emily - 01:02pm Jul 14, 06

At one point there was a bad batch of motors at Jameco. The ones I ordered most recently were ok, but it can't hurt to double check before you start building. You can tell the difference by looking at the label on the motor. The good motors say "Jameco ReliaPro P/N: 253446". The bad motors just say "253446". The bad motors are also really weak, and you can very easily stop them with you fingers.
