  1. Before commencing the wiring of the qwerkbot+, ensure that the power switch is set to off.

  2. Connect the two servos to servo ports 0 and 1. Connect the pan servo to port 0 and the tilt servo to port 1. Ensure that the yellow wire on the connector is nearest to the edge of the circuit board.

  3. Connect the Logitech USB cable to the bottom USB port on the Qwerk.

  4. Strip 3/16” insulation off of each of the motor wires, and twist the end of the wire so that none of the bared conductor strands are astray. Wire the motors such that the left motor leads go to motor port 0, and the right motor leads go to port 1. Place each stripped wire in the appropriate port, and use a #4 flathead screwdriver to connect the screw terminal. Give the wire a sharp tug to ensure that is tightly connected to the screw terminal. Once wires are properly connected, neaten them such that they will not come into contact with the wheels or floor - use zip ties to keep the wires in a desired location. WARNING: Take care not to mix the leads from the motors, or you may cause damage to both controller and motors. Motor directionality will be determined and set later in these instructions, so you do not need to place a specific wire in the + or – ports.

  5. Plug in the wireless USB adapter.

  6. Connect the main power input to the battery using the battery power connector.

  7. Check to make sure that all wires are kept out of reach of moving parts and use zip ties to neaten them if necessary. Use the wire cutters to cut off any excess zip tie material.

  8. Turn on your QweRKBot and launch the QweRKBot Teleop Interface. Set the robot on blocks, and drive the robot forward. If either or both wheels are spinning in the wrong direction, turn off the robot, open the motor screw down terminals and flip the wires for the appropriate motor(s).

  9. Congratulations, you’ve built your own robot! Eat a congratulatory cookie.
