Sound files get clipped at the beginning when played on the Qwerk. It definitely happens to sound files sent over Ice to the Qwerk, but I'm not sure if it also happens to sound files played using aplay from a Qwerk command prompt.
Adding about 500 ms of silence to the beginning of the sound file can be used as a temporary workaround.
